Welcome to Next Step Dance! We cater to all ages and skill levels, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced dancers honing their technique. Below is an overview of our programs and the upcoming changes.
Transition to 12-Month Session Starting Fall 2024
Starting fall 2024, we will shift to a 12-month session from the current 9-month format. This change allows for continuous, year-round training, providing many benefits:
Consistent Learning: Avoids the learning loss typically seen during long breaks and maintains steady progress in technique and fitness.
Flexible Curriculum: Offers the chance to explore a broader array of dance styles at a comfortable pace.
Easier Planning and Budgeting: Spreads costs and commitments evenly across the year, easing financial and scheduling pressures for families.
Class Types Overview
Technical Classes (Ballet, Jazz, Turns & Leaps, Conditioning): These foundational classes focus on proper technique, promoting safety, skill progression, and expressiveness.
Musicality Classes (Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Tap): These classes enhance performance skills by teaching dancers to match movements with musical cues, improving timing, rhythm, and emotional impact.
Artistry Classes (Lyrical, Contemporary, Improv): Aimed at fostering creativity, these classes encourage personal expression and emotional depth in performances.
Our goal with these changes and offerings is to enhance the educational experience at Next Step Dance, supporting our dancers in reaching their full potential in a structured yet adaptable environment.

First Steps Program: $70 per month — this program is designed for our youngest dancers or the re-engaging dancers. Dancers in this program are enrolled in one class per week.
*Next Steps Program: $135 per month — encourages a mix of technical and musicality classes to enrich dance education. Dancers in this program are enrolled in two classes per week
Unlimited Classes: $250 per month – Encourages dancers take the opportunity of more classes, to engage fully and take advantage of every style and technique.
A Step Above - Competitive Programs: $91 to $200 per month — Customizable for each dancers wants and needs. This program is for those seeking deeper commitment, covering higher-level training and competition expenses. For dancers looking for more performance opportunities, this program is perfect!
*Adding À La Carte Classes: Flexible and Affordable: Explore More for Less:
At Next Step Dance, we offer the flexibility to add additional classes, such as additional technique classes, artistry classes and push classes’ à la carte with our step-down pricing model. For dancers enrolled in the Next Step program, this option allows dancers to explore more styles and techniques without the steep increase in cost:
3rd class: +$50 per month.
4th additional class: +$40 per month.
5th additional class/Unlimited classes: +$25 per month.
After the fifth class, enroll in as many additional classes as you’d like for a fixed and affordable monthly rate. This unlimited access encourages dancers to broaden their skills across diverse dance forms and take full advantage of our extensive class offerings.
A la Carte classes are not available for the First Steps Program

Competition Date: Our competition is scheduled for March of 2025 through May of 2025.
Location: We choose local competitions to minimize travel expenses.
Spectator Information: Spectators enjoy free admission. We strongly encourage families to invite friends and relatives to support the dancers. Additionally, some competitions offer live stream video for out-of-town family members to join in the fun from home.

The "A Step Above Competitive Program" at Next Step Dance is designed for dancers who are eager to elevate their experience through competition, offering a comprehensive platform without the pressure of auditions. This program provides dancers the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and enjoy the thrill of performance, all within a supportive community environment.
Program Entry:
• No Audition Required: We are committed to making competitive dance accessible to all dancers who are ready to take this step. As such, no audition is necessary to join this program.
• Enrollment in Required Classes: To ensure that all dancers are adequately prepared for competitions, it is essential to follow a structured training regimen. Dancers must enroll in suitable classes for their age and skill level, as per our detailed fall schedule. This includes:
• Program Participation: Enrollment in the Next Step Program or a higher-level program is required.
• Competitive Performance Classes: Dancers must register for specific classes designed for competitive team members to rehears and practice together.
• Technical and Style-Specific Classes: Regular attendance in all required technical classes is mandatory. Additionally, dancers must enroll in style-specific classes that match the routines they will perform (e.g., a dancer cast in a lyrical routine must enroll and attend the appropriate lyrical class).
Cost and Fees:
• Tuition: The monthly fee includes all class tuition necessary for participation in the competitive program.
• Additional Costs: While class tuition is covered, there are additional expenses for participating in competitions. These include fees for competitive routines, costumes, and other necessary gear for the competition season. The total provided above includes the following.
Financial Breakdown:
• Competitive Fees: $65/routine for

Solo: $155 (totaling $465 for three events)
• Duo/Trio: $155 per performance, divided among the dancers (performed three times)
• Group Routine: $65 per routine (totaling $585 for three events)
• Gear: $200 per dancer for the season

Costumes: Each dancer's costume, including shoes, tights, and accessories, will not exceed $100 per class. These costumes will be utilized for every performance of the routines.

Competition Food!
• At every event, we facilitate a team dinner costing $25 per event, per dancers, totaling $75 for the season. This gathering is an integral part of our program, fostering a sense of family and community. While we arrange meals for registered dancers, family members and friends are encouraged to join. Additional meals for guests are not covered under the program fees and must be arranged separately. This policy ensures fairness and simplicity in logistics.
