Policies and Waiver
I, the undersigned, represent, acknowledge and accept that participation in the activities for which the Participant is registered includes strenuous physical activity and involves possible risks of serious injury (including paralysis or death) with or without the negligence of others. Participant, on his/her behalf, and the parent/legal guardian, on behalf of Minor, as well as on their own behalf, unequivocally agree to incur and assume such risks as a condition to participation in the activities for which the Participant is registered. The undersigned represent that the Participant is healthy and has no physical or mental condition that would impair Participant's ability to fully and safely participate in the intended activities. I, Participant (and the Minor Participant's parent/legal guardian on behalf of Minor and on their own behalf) hereby waive all claims (past, present or future), release and discharge, covenant not to sue, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless TD Sunken Enterprises LLC (DBA The Next Step Dance Studio), as well as its of officers, employees and agents (hereinafter collectively "Releasees") from any and all liability, loss, cost, expense, claims, demands, actions, judgments and executions which the undersign experienced, is experiencing, or may experience in the future, for personal injuries, known or unknown, and damage to property (real or personal) in any way caused by, related to, or arising out of, directly or indirectly, the activity for which Participant is registered or permitted to engage. I, the undersigned, represent, acknowledge and accept that participation in the activities for which the Participant is registered includes, in the regular course of instruction, the necessity for the instructor to adjust and correct the Participant's body form and position to proper placement. This includes correction of the head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, torso, hips, legs and feet. I, Participant (and the Minor Participant's parent/legal guardian on behalf of Minor and on their own behalf) fully acknowledge that I am aware that the instructor may, at some times, appropriately correct and aid my Participant's body position and freely agree to allow such action to take place. I agree to release and hold harmless all Releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damages or cost of any Releasee may incur in result of any such claim against the instructor. In the event of illness or injury, I authorize The Next Step Dance Studio to obtain necessary medical treatment for Participant and hereby, in my own behalf of the Participant, release and hold harmless all Releasees. The undersigned represents and agrees that this waiver and release is binding not only on the undersigned, but also upon their heirs, representatives, administrators, executors and assigns. The release covers every possible injury or accident of every sort and nature, whether related to the permitted activity, the equipment, the condition of the premises, or otherwise and regardless of whether due in whole or in part to the negligence of a Releasee or other Participant. Furthermore, if anyone (Participant, Minor's parent/ legal guardian or anyone on behalf of Participant or parent/legal guardian) makes a claim against any of the Releasees despite their release, then the undersigned agree to indemnify and hold harmless each of the Releasees from any litigation expenses, attorney fees, loss, liability, damages or cost of any Releasee may incur in result of any such claim.
I, the undersigned, represent, acknowledge and accept that there are no refunds on any fees, for any reason, unless initiated by The Next Step Dance Studio. I also understand that all checks returned from financial institutions will incur a $25.00 fee. I accept that there will be late fees for payments made after due dates and I agree to pay them in full. I understand that if my credit card is stored in the parent portal, that credit card will be used by the NSDS administrative team to automatically charge fees on announced due dates. Otherwise, payment may be made by check or cash. I agree to take responsibility to read through the weekly email newsletter so that I do not miss payment due dates and other important announcements.
I understand that The Next Step Dance Studio produces promotional and other materials relating to their events, classes, and programs. I understand that any participant and/or spectator may be included in any photography and/or videotaping. Therefore, without reservation or limitations, on my behalf and on behalf of Minor, hereby assign, transfer and grant The Next Step Dance Studio, its successors, assignees, licensees and sponsors, the exclusive right to utilize any and all photographs and/or video footage in any and all advertising and promotional materials.
I, in my own behalf of the Participant, hereby warrant that I have read in its entirety and fully understand its contents and am signing of my own free will. I, in my own behalf and on behalf of the Participant, am aware that this Release and Wavier releases any Releasees from liability and contains and acknowledgment of my voluntary and knowing assumption of the risk of injury or illness. I, the undersigned, represent, acknowledge and accept that COVID-19 is an active disease in the United State, the State of Illinois, and McLean County. I further represent that at all times that the Participant is in the Next Step Dance Studio facility or participating in activities organized by the Next Step Dance Studio, that the participant has no known symptoms of COVID-19, including but not limited to fever, coughing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, chills, sore throat, or new loss of sense of taste or smell. I further agree that participation in the activities for which the Participant is registered includes the risk that the Participant may contract COVID-19 with or without the negligence of others. Participant, on his/her behalf, and the parent/legal guardian, on behalf of Minor, as well as on their own behalf, unequivocally agree to incur and assume such risks as a condition to participation in the activities for which the Participant is registered. I, Participant (and the Minor Participant's parent/legal guardian on behalf of Minor and on their own behalf) hereby waive all claims (past, present or future), release and discharge, covenant not to sue, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless TD Sunken Enterprises, LLC (DBA The Next Step Dance Studio), as well as its of officers, employees and agents (hereinafter collectively "Releasees") from any and all liability, loss, cost, expense, claims, demands, actions, judgments and executions which the undersign experienced, is experiencing, or may experience in the future, for personal injuries, known or unknown, due to COVID-19, in any way caused by, related to, or arising out of, directly or indirectly, the activity for which Participant is registered or permitted to engage.
Payment Policy
If you have not saved a credit/debit card on your account, we encourage you to do so to avoid any delay in processing tuition and avoiding a late fee. You can also make a payment on or before the payment is due by calling the studio or visiting the front desk.
Full tuition is due every month regardless of attendance or Holidays. A $40 non-refundable annual registration fee is due at the time of enrollment. If you have not paid this fee within this year, it will be posted to your account on August 14th.
By saving a credit/debit card on your account you have granted The Next Step Dance Studio to use that said credit/debit card to clear all invoices (registration fee, tuition, costume fees, late fees, etc.).
Parents/Guardians of students wishing to drop a class must email the front desk by the 20th of the month. Failure to do so will make you responsible for full tuition for that month, after payment has been debited on the 1st - there are no refunds. We must have all drop requests in writing.
Missed classes will not result in prorated tuition or refund. Make-up classes may be scheduled by emailing the front desk --> FrontDeskNSDS@gmail.com, for those students who miss class due to illness/injury. Missed classes must be made up within thirty days.
A $25 late fee will be charged for payments not received 5 days after due. Holidays or a student's absence does not waive this fee. The Next Step Dance Studio does not send out monthly statements. Reminders will be sent out if payment is late. Postdated checks will not be accepted. Return check charge $25

Refunds
The Next Step Dance Studio will not be offering refunds after a payment has been made. We will gladly place a credit on your account that can be used for future use.
We communicate and notify our families of all charges. Please take the time to read emails and handouts regarding those charges so you do not miss something important.
Student Drops
If you need to drop your child at any time during the session, or you do not want your child auto enrolled into the next session, we must have that request in writing. Please email → FrontDeskNSDS@gmail.com that you
are requesting to drop. Please include the dancer’s first and last name as well as the class they are dropping and for which session. If the Next Step does not have notification of the requested drop, in writing, a drop will not be granted AND if you have been charged tuition, you will not be refunded or earn a credit.
Absence & Make Up Policy
Weekly attendance is critical to your child’s progress in technique. Sometimes extended absences indicate that a child has dropped a class without alerting us, and we need to make sure tuition is accurate.
If your child will be absent, please email →
FrontDeskNSDS@gmail.com with your dancer’s name and class. If your child misses a class, they may make up that class the week before, week of, or week after. He or she may come to any class that matches his/her age/level. It does not have to be in the same style. For example, if you child is in Combo 1, then he/she can come to another class at the same age/level. Please look on the parent portal for a makeup class, please sign in your child on the sign in sheet on the left wall by the front desk. Please alert the front desk so they know your child is there for a makeup.
The new fee structure will apply beginning September 1st, 2023:
30 Minute Classes:
Tiny Dancers & Tiny Tumblers → $60/month
Bitty Ballerinas, Tappin Tutus, Princess Ballet, Tumbling Minis, & Tap 1 → $65/month
All 45 minute classes → $70/month
All 1 hour classes → $80/month
Adult Classes:
Adult Tap & Hip Hop → $45/month
Ballroom → $15 per person
Trial Classes: $5/Class
Annual Registration Fee
Each year NSDS families are charged an annual registration fee. This fee is due on August 14, 2023 in the amount of $40 per family. Adult classes & NSDS Performing Co. members are excluded from this fee. If you previously paid a registration fee in 2023, you would not owe another registration fee. If you have a credit/debit card saved on the portal, the registration fee will be automatically charged on August 14, 2023. If you do not have a card saved, you are responsible for paying the registration fee on or by August 14, 2023. Registration fees not paid for by August 21, 2023 will be subject to a $15 late fee.
