✨ Meet Miss Cheyenne! ✨ We are so excited to introduce you to Miss Cheyenne, one of our incredible instructors here at Next Step Dance! 💃 Cheyenne’s dance journey began at the age of 3, and she’s trained in a wide variety of styles, including ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, modern, lyrical, and tap—with even more experience in character, hip hop, musical theatre, and ballroom! 🩰✨ She competed throughout high school, joining the Encore Dance Company in her junior year. Cheyenne discovered her passion for teaching as co-captain of her high school dance team, where she led warm-ups, refined technique, and choreographed stunning routines. Now, as a student at Illinois State University studying Exercise Science, she’s combining her love of dance with her academic knowledge to help dancers improve their technique, prevent injuries, and grow stronger. 💪🩰 Not only is she a star instructor, but she’s also the captain of the Impact Dance Team at ISU, where she leads practices, choreographs routines, and more! Cheyenne is passionate about challenging her students to reach new heights while having fun and expressing themselves through movement. 🎉 Meet Ms. Emma! 🎉 We’re so excited to introduce our amazing instructor, Ms. Emma, to the Next Step Dance family! 👏✨ From being inspired by Dancing with the Stars and Michael Jackson videos as a child, to training at Stacy’s Dance Factory in multiple styles—Emma’s passion for dance knows no bounds! While Hip-Hop is her specialty, she also has experience in Ballet, Tap, and Jazz. 💃🕺 Emma served as Captain of her Dance Team, leading choreography for games, parades, and competition routines. She’s also trained with some of the best, participating in multiple World of Dance (WOD) Young Lions Master Classes led by Ian Eastwood and attending live WOD competitions in the Chicago suburbs. 🌟🔥 Emma loves helping dancers grow and sharing her love for Hip-Hop! Currently pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance at Illinois State University, with a minor in Health and Wellness Coaching, Miss Victoria is passionate about both dance and helping her students succeed. With over 15 years of performance experience and 12 years of training in ballet and pointe, she has expanded her skills into Jazz, Hip-Hop, Musical Theater, Modern, and more! She began her choreographic career in 2022 and has already created stunning works for local productions at ISU. 💃✨ Miss Victoria brings her wealth of experience and love for teaching to every class. She focuses on correct muscle activation, posture, strength, and flexibility to ensure her students thrive. Her collaborative approach and tailored choreography make her an invaluable part of our dance family. 🌟 Instructor Spotlight: Miss Conley 🌟 We are thrilled to reintroduce the amazing Conley Bateman, who has been a dedicated instructor at Next Step Dance for the past year! Conley’s love for dance began at just 7 years old at Marilyn’s Danceworks in Danville, IL, where she quickly became a fixture in the studio, assisting classes by age 12. After high school, Conley joined Jodi’s Dance Unlimited and continued to flourish, dancing in unforgettable events like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and performing at Universal Studios! In 2022, she found her way to Next Step Dance and reignited her passion for teaching. Conley is now finishing her degree in Communication Studies - Organizational Leadership and is proud to call Bloomington-Normal her home. Whether she’s teaching in the evenings or choreographing routines for her former dance team, Conley’s love for dance continues to grow. With a rich background in classical ballet, modern dance, swing, and more, Mrs. Maria brings an abundance of experience to the studio.
